As Within
‘As Within’ is an exhibition showing new work by ceramicist Clairy Laurence and painter Monica Usher curated by Alexandra Lawson. The exhibition explores sacred objects and their overlaid meanings, memories and significance. Laurence’s work explores ideas around life, death, change and rebirth. Usher’s practice is an intuitive depiction of what is seen, and what remains hidden within the layers of paint.
My curation of works by these sisters explores the conceptual connections between their practices through the installation and essay accompanying the exhibition.
